About Me
Having lived in London, Brussels, Atlanta, Vero Beach (FL), Oxford (OH), Tanzania, Chicago, Blowing Rock (NC) and now New Orleans, I've experienced many different cultures and met all kinds of people in all walks of life. My career to date included mostly non-profits, from my first job as a "wish granter" at an organization that grants wishes to children with life threatening illnesses, to running the Chicago Chapter of an organization that paired veterans with PTSD and TBI with shelter dogs trained as therapy animals, I've always felt called to help people in their turbulent times. But when I found myself in need of help, the traditional ways were not a good fit for me. Therapy is wonderful for some people and important for understanding why you are the way you are. But for me, I was sick of rehashing what had happened to me in the past. I knew why I was the way I was; I wanted tangible, actionable strategies for moving forward. So I set out to find a way to help myself through books, podcasts, videos, lectures, retreats...whatever I could get my hands on that might help me to get me on the right path. And after much trial and error, and a lot of work, I eventually built the life I always knew I could have with a career that could help people do the same.
What is a Life Coach?
A life coach is an objective professional who partners with individuals to help them achieve their personal and professional goals. They provide guidance, support, and accountability, helping clients clarify their vision, set actionable objectives, and overcome obstacles. Unlike therapists, who often focus on resolving past issues, life coaches are forward-looking and concentrate on helping clients build a roadmap for future success. Through tailored strategies, motivational techniques, and insightful questions, a life coach empowers clients to harness their strengths, unlock their potential, and create a fulfilling and balanced life.
My Approach
Life Coaching is not a one size-fits-all endeavor. During your introductory call we can discuss your goals, what's been stopping you, and what methods you respond to best. Some people want a cheerleader and some want someone to hold them accountable - or often something in between! Iām known for my kindness and compassion, though I can be firm and direct when necessary to ensure growth and success and we can find the right path forward for you together.
